We are Wild Wisdom…

Sarai Nicolina Shapiro and Caitlin Rose Wild are the creators and guides for Wild Wisdom.

Sarai Nicolina Shapiro (she/her) is a healer, guide, coach and ceremonialist working with earth medicines from both Indigenous and Western frameworks. See her private practice here. She has spent her life supporting the emergence of people of all ages, from youth through adulthood through earth centered initiatory experiences that invoke a heart-full connection to self, community, earth, and spirit.  She was the youth programs director for Wilderness Torah and is the Founder and previous Executive Director of Gaia Passages.  She utilizes modalities learned in her many studies from somatics, energy-psychology, ceremonial and healing arts, nature connection, and coaching to support each individual in unique ways.

Caitlin Rose Wild (she/her) is a healer and Wild Soul Guide. She works 1:1 with people in her private practice in Santa Cruz, CA as well as hosting off-sites + nature adventures through the organization she founded, Mountain Soul Adventures. An experienced wilderness guide, avid backpacker, eco-therapy practitioner, bridge builder, community organizer and nature-connection facilitator, she follows the guidance of Nature to bring balance and wholeness to everyone she works with. She weaves ritual in the day-to-day and in sacred ceremony with light-hearted joy and depth. Find our more about Caitlin’s world here.

Honoring this land and these complex times

We believe that to restore harmony between humans and the earth, we must slow down, listen, reconnect, and relearn how to communicate with the wild ones, the spirits of the ancestors, and the land. All of our ancestors possessed this knowledge, rooted in traditions that aligned us with life's cycles and rhythms to maintain balance. Much of this knowledge has been lost over time due to the effects of colonization on our earth’s peoples and traditions.

Acknowledging that we offer our soul-stice quests on the ancestral lands of the original North American tribal inhabitants, such as the Kashiya Band of the Pomo people in Stewarts Point, we approach our work and calling with humility and love. Our training originates from Western teachers at the Animas Institute and School of Lost Borders, drawing from both the land and a pan-indigenous framework. Additionally, we have mentors from Western and indigenous backgrounds contributing to our work, in addition to the search inside of our own ancestral traditions (mostly Ashkenazic Jewish).

Through many days of communion with the earth, we've learned directly from the wild ones, who welcome humans returning to this innate connection. Our greatest prayer is that the insights gained from ours and your earth communions contribute to honoring and uplifting Indigenous wisdom, lineage, and all people and beings as we heal from the losses we have faced over the last several thousand years.
